Apollo Chorus of Chicago records, 1873-1977.

Board minutes, various committee and financial reports, newsletters, publicity releases, correspondence, scrapbooks (9 v. with photographs and programs), and newsclippings of the Apollo Chorus of Chicago, formerly known as the Apollo Musical Club of Chicago. A significant portion materials relate to concerts and other performances by the club, including a list of works performed at concerts from 1873 through 1975, and biographical information on the soloists. Rehearsals have been held at the Fine Arts Building for many years, and performances at Orchestra Hall. Includes materials on the work of directors of the Apollo Chorus, including Edgar Nelson (1928-51), Henry Veld (1951-63), and William Peterman (1963-85).
